Aurora Web Service (AWS) Release Notes – 2014 #
Details are displayed in reverse chronological order (latest first)
| Version | Change | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| 4.9.5 | Enh | The AWS ReserveMaintenance method has been altered so that if you cancel a reserve for the reason ‘the trapped reserve was not picked up on time’ a user message to that effect is now also added. The message reads “Reserve not collect in time. Collect by date : dd-mm-yyyy, Item : <ItemBarcode> , Title : <Title>” |
| 4.9.5 | Enh | AWS method GetEBookInfo will now return 2 new Boolean fields in the dataset called IsEAudioBook and IsEMagazine and the flag will be set to True/False depending on the catalogue record content. If either of these are set to true then IsEBook flag will also say true (they are subsets of eBook). AWS method GetTitlesDataset will now also return these fields. |
| 4.9.5 | Enh | More charge related information is returned from a Return transaction e.g. if the charge is waived. |
| 4.9.5 | Enh | A change was made to the way tables of contents are created, AWS GetTitlesDataset drops the trailing space carat character on returned DDS_SE10 and DDS_URL fields. |
| 4.8.15 | Enh | A change was made to restore the deletion of previous loans in ‘User Links’. |
| 4.8.15 | Enh | Through AWS the view of funds are now restricted to a specific council (entity). |
| 4.7.11 | Enh | AWS now accommodates the election of sub-locations from the Serials Control module in Desktop |
| 4.7.11 | Enh | Functionality for the new ‘Charges’ screen in Desktop has been added to AWS |
| 4.7.11 | Enh | A modification was made to allow non-preferred subject headings to be upgraded to preferred, if an existing identical Name heading is in use. |
| 4.6.4 | Enh | A modification was made to allow a trapped reserve to be overlooked when renewing another item from the same work. |
| 4.6.4 | Enh | AWS has been modified to allow for the storage of the ‘Item reference number’. |
| 4.6.4 | Enh | AWS has been modified to compensate for USdate/international date ambiguity within serial control. |
| 4.6.4 | Enh | New enterprise parameters have been created, SS_PredChronologyPeriod, SS_PatID, SS_PredPublication, SS_PredCalendarChange, SS_PredChronologyCodes, SS_PredFixed. These new parameters allow for the storage of serial prediction patterns. |
| 4.5.19 | Enh | AWS will now adjust the related fund, in real-time when a Serial subscription “status” is edited. |
| 4.5.19 | Enh | A new Enterprise parameter has been created, CallNumbersInUpperCase. This allows the library to define whether or not call numbers are automatically set to upper case. |
| 4.5.19 | Enh | 2 new Enterprise parameters have been created to hold a list of tags to be stripped from an incoming Authority or Bibliographic Marc record:
Schema version 175 or later is required. |
| 4.4.22 | Enh | GMD Clean-up routine for Libraries Australia data extraction (Leichhardt specific). |
| 4.4.16 | Fix | A user joining online can now be assigned a default usertype via AWS.GetUserTypeAuto |
| 4.4.10 | Enh | A new enterprise table setting (MonographsInProgress2) ensures any new non-serial item is given an in-progress status when added. This will ensure that items have this status when they are created during the Loader process. |
| 4.4.9 | Fix | Get Heading hyperlinks correction – some headings were inadvertently previously bypassed |
| 4.4.3 | Enh | Recompilation in preparation for updated release |
| 4.3.28 | Enh | If an item is trapped and awaiting collection, it will now not show as available in the work Summary |
| 4.3.28 | Enh | The ability to correct faulty diacritics has been added to AWS |
| 4.3.28 | Enh | A special Log capability has been added to AWS for testing of Download on Demand (for Libraries for the Blind) purposes. The log is invoked by a new field passed in the AllocateToUser dataset. |
| 4.3.26 | Fix | There was an error in the routine to delete Headings with no links created from a Bib record. This has been resolved |
| 4.3.22 | Enh | AWS has been updated to allow the CirculationHistory table to be updated with an item replacement cost, when an item is deleted |
| 4.3.19 | Enh | A change was made to prevent the last item in a table from being deleted. Additionally AWS now removes data from 7 additional tables when an item is deleted. |
| 4.3.19 | Enh | AWS now supports the creation of a child holdings record |
| 4.3.11 | Enh | AWS now supports the creation of reading lists and prequel/sequel lists. Please see Lists of Works |
| 4.3.11 | Fix | If a work (not an eBook) has no items, the reservation check that was in place, to ensure the work had at least one item, was bypassing the ‘no items’ prompt, and therefore could not be overridden. This has been resolved. |
| 4.3.11 | Fix | Automatic Capitalisation of holdings subfields has been moved from Desktop to AWS to remove a conflict. |
| 4.2.26 | Fix | A typo was found, which caused a bug when writing an Invoice note longer than 50 characters and less that 150 characters. In turn, this caused the AcqAudit table field not to be written |
| 4.2.15 | Enh | AWS is modified to allow a library within a consortium to block on-shelf reservations for an item which has a specific Item statistical category set for one or more relevant Councils. Please see additional notes for Desktop ASR of this date. |
| 4.2.15 | Fix | A unique situation was discovered, where an operator deleted the latest created item record on one workstation when another operator simultaneous was creating another. As a result, the latest item detail was incorrectly assigned. A change is made so that if the latest item in the database is deleted, it will tell you that it has been deleted – but actually the item is given a status of ‘withdrawn’. The CirculationHistory table records this as an item status change to Withdrawn, not an Item deletion. It will be deleted subsequently, when withdrawn items are bulk deleted and it is no longer the latest recorded item in the database; if it is in fact still the latest item number when running batch withdrawals, that process will still not delete it. |
| 4.2.14 | Enh | A modification was applied to enable Vision Australia to change their Daisy and/or Burn on Demand profile settings over to a new Download on Demand item format, bypassing the need for sequential correction for each profile for each user. This fix updates codes in the tables: UserSelection and UserSelDetails for Profile changes |
| 4.2.11 | Enh | MP3 files are now saved with XAUDIO keyword which is accessible via an anywhere search |
| 4.2.11 | Enh | AWS software is enhanced to support a new Download on Demand [DoD] feature for Libraries for the Blind.
New Methods allow:
|
| 4.2.8 | Enh | SICI can be included when a new item is added |
| 4.2.5 | Enh | AWS has been modified to rebuild the catalogue search record (BDDS) following a permanent item transfer. |
| 4.2.5 | Enh | If a charge transaction is dated on or after Feb 4th 2014, AWS will return the ‘GetUserChargesDataset’ data indicating the owner library in accordance with the user charges ‘physical location’, rather than the ‘home location’ of the item. Desktop will then use the user charges ‘physical location’ rather than the ‘home location’ of the item when determining the owner library. This means that in a consortium model, a charge accrued during a transaction at another location will always be credited to the lending location.
If a charge transaction is dated before Feb 4th 2014, it will behave for charge ownership as it did in the live version at the date of the transaction. |
| 4.1.30 | Enh | A new AWS Method AllocateToUser is added. This method will pass the User ID and the Item format, i.e. Download on Demand [DOD] specifically, and will create DOD items for multiple titles – and Loan these items to the user, up until they don’t need any more according to profile settings – or up to a max that can be optionally defined as part of the dataset. This new method takes into account the overall user selection max; the number of titles on loan to the user, and in the Picking List; the number of titles on loan this format, and titles on loan in this format on the picking list; checks whether this title has been picked by another method and is in the picking list; takes into account the same title but a different Bib ID (same immutable title number) to prevent duplicate titles; checks user statuses/debarral; whether the profile is suspended or not; etc. |
| 4.1.24 | Enh | AWS has been modified to show the item’s ‘on-loan detail’ on the Loans screen, in the case of non-consortium libraries. |
| 4.1.22 | Enh | AWS has been modified to change ‘ – ‘ to ‘–‘ when it returns ‘table of contents’ data to the calling application. This has been put in place to make the TOC display clearly. |
| 4.1.22 | Enh | Item format maintenance has a new field Loan_ItemFormat. IM_XONotice – to allow exclusion of items with a specific item format from being selected for overdue notices |
| 4.1.21 | Enh | AWS has been modified to allow suppliers to be deleted where they have no active orders |
| 4.1.13 | Enh | AWS has been modified to only check items in the same council (consortium model) if a reserved item has a renewal attempt. |
