Captcha #

Captcha is a tool that helps keep websites safe by checking that you’re a real person and not an automated bot, helping reduce spam and misuse.

In Montage V2 a centralized captcha management system is present in the admin interface. This allows administrators to enable or disable reCAPTCHA validation on specific pages throughout Montage v2.

The system includes seven configurable checkboxes for different entry points:

• Patron Login
• Admin Login
• Forgot Login Details
• Change PIN/Password
• SSO Authentication
• Advanced Search
• Add Suggestion & ILL

A configurable “Captcha Strength” dropdown has five sensitivity levels: Lenient (0.3), Reduced (0.4), Normal (0.5), Elevated (0.6), and Strict (0.7).

A confirmation dialog has been implemented to warn administrators when attempting to disable captcha on the main patron login page, as this is a critical security control.

Important: Please do not set the ratio to 1.0 as this will cause all logins to fail.

The recommended setting is 0.5.
